As promised to all our learner drivers in Buckley, Chester, Connah’s Quay and Ellesmere Port. Here is an update so far on the new driving test centre in Chester.
Chester Gate test center has been open for the past three weeks. Without a doubt, it a busy little place to say the least. We do have Parking Bays which as you turn left into Chester Gate, it is the second opening on the left. The Bays are on the left and are clearly marked.
If you arrive early for the test, you will be pushed to find any spare Parking Bays free (depending on the test time), while waiting for the examiners to come back from a test or finish their debrief with the candidate.
Instead of trying to find a parking bay, I have decided to go past Costco all the way to the bottom of the road. Follow the road to the left and it is a dead end. It’s always empty (great place for a turn in the road also!). It takes all the possible fuss and potential evil eye from other business employees that could upset your nervous pupil. As we all know, keeping the student calm can be difficult without any extra pressure before a Driving Test.
The test routes traveling into Chester only have two ways in and two ways out. With several variations which are limited to certain areas because of time.
The test routes traveling into Queensferry and surrounding areas. Bring out individual elements in the learner that the Old Chester test centre only touched upon.
The test routes traveling into Ellesmere Port have a greater number of mini-roundabouts and also traffic calming measures. Compared to the old Chester test centre.
Several pupils have asked if I could break down each test route or at least go through some of the trickier areas, which I will do in May.
