As promised to all our learner drivers in Buckley, Chester, Connah’s Quay and Ellesmere Port, February’s news is an update so far on the new driving test centre in Chester.

The last test was conducted in Chester on the 24th of February. There will be no more driving test until the 6th March 2017 which will be conducted in the new test centre. The address is Unit16, Dunkirk Trading Estate Chester Gates CH1 6LT (opposite Costco).

A meeting was held on the 23 February 2017 with Wayne the Senior Examiner. The following information was provided:

There are 8 bays and bay parking will be done, however they are aware that in some weather conditions the bays may not be visible. I presume on these occasions bay parking will not be requested, but we will find out for sure and it will be in the next update. No Saturday tests will not be conducted at the moment because of the problem with traffic from the Flip Out (trampoline centre).

The routes would take in a variety of roads within a 15 minute drive of the test centre & could include the A494 to Queensferry and include driving through Garden city and parts of Deeside Industrial estate. They would also be coming into Chester and into Ellesmere Port.

The boundary of the test routes at present have been suggested as no further than the Bars roundabout and the Fountains roundabout in Chester. Also using the M53 as a boundary for Chester and Ellesmere Port.

We have been informed there will be 7 test routes in Chester and Ellesmere Port and 3 in Deeside. But there could be up to 30 test routes in total.
